Moreton-in-Marsh
Many crews going
to 150 Squadron passed through the pretty Cotswolds town of
Moreton-in-Marsh to train at 21 O.T.U. While the station is gone,
Gerry Tyack runs the very interesting Wellington Museum and Art
Gallery in the village. Gerry has written a fine history of the
airfield at Moreton-in-Marsh, as well as being one of the driving
forces behind the erection of a memorial stone to the men who trained
and who also died at 21 OTU. The old airfield is now a Fire Training
College. Here's a picture of "Shorty" standing by the memorial. If
you are in the UK, a visit to Moreton-in-Marsh is a must.

Gerry's Wimpy
In the garden of Gerry Tyack's home is a most unusual "garden ornament - the tail section of Wellington 1c Serial L7775. This photo shows the famous Barnes Wallis geodetic construction to advantage as well as the RAF Ensign in the foreground and Gerry's beautiful English garden which is a fine background to this very rare remaining piece of Wellington fuselage.
